Terms of Service

Effective date: 6 July 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and VIBOA UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“ebbwave”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use ebbwave.

Who can use ebbwave

You must be 18 or older. ebbwave deals with addiction and compulsive behavior and is not intended for minors.

What ebbwave is — and isn’t

ebbwave is a habit-change and self-help support tool. It is not medical care, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for professional help. Please read our Health & Medical Disclaimer, which is part of these Terms.

In an emergency, or if you may be a danger to yourself or others, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. ebbwave is not an emergency service.

Your account

If you create an account (optional — the app also works locally without one), keep your credentials secure and give accurate information. You’re responsible for activity under your account. You can delete it anytime in Settings.

Subscriptions and payments

ebbwave Plus is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) and a one-time lifetime purchase, sold through Apple’s App Store.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings — we cannot cancel or refund on Apple’s behalf.
• Any free-trial period is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its terms.

Core safety features — the craving-wave / SOS tool, the self-check, and care navigation — are free and always will be.

Points

In-app “momentum points” are a motivational feature only. You earn them for clean days you log; they are never staked, forfeited, or charged. Points have no monetary value, are not currency, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not a wager or a game of chance. There is no real-money staking in ebbwave.

Community rules (Circle)

The Circle feed is anonymous and meant to be supportive. When you post, you agree not to: harass, threaten, or abuse anyone; post others’ private information; share illegal content; spam or advertise; or give medical, legal, or financial advice presented as professional. We may remove content or restrict accounts that break these rules. Posts are shown with your initials and a day/habit label — never your name or contact details.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you write (your “why”, notes, posts). You grant us a limited licence to store and display it solely to operate ebbwave for you (for example, syncing your data or showing your post in the anonymous feed). You’re responsible for what you share, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the app: no reverse engineering except where the law allows, no interfering with its security, no automated scraping, and no using ebbwave to break the law or harm others.

Disclaimers and no warranty

ebbwave is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular recovery outcome. The recovery curve shown in the app is an illustrative MODEL, not a promise about your results.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ebbwave is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for injury to life or body, or for intent or gross negligence). Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Changes and termination

We may update the app and these Terms; we’ll post a new effective date and, for material changes, tell you in the app. You can stop using ebbwave and delete your account anytime. We may suspend access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms.

Governing law

German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected.

Apple

These Terms are between you and ebbwave, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, but is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
